The City of Marfa has officially ordered a shelter in place mandate. At this time all hotels, short-term rentals and non-essential businesses are currently closed. In accordance Ballroom Marfa will remain temporarily closed to the public until further notice. This includes our gallery spaces as well as our public installation, Haroon Mirza’s stone circle. We ask that visitors to Elmgreen & Dragset’s Prada Marfa exercise an abundance of caution and practice social distancing. If you can avoid visiting at this time we recommend doing so. Making the voyage to Marfa… From El Paso (approx. 3 hrs): Take Interstate I-10 East to Van Horn. Exit onto Highway 90 East. You will pass through lovely Valentine, which is approximately 25 miles from Marfa. (Be on the lookout for the Prada Marfa installation on your right.) Once you have reached Marfa, continue east on Highway 90 through the main intersection — Ballroom Marfa will be on your right, directly across from the Stripes gas station on E. San Antonio Street.
Please note: If you are traveling to Marfa from El Paso, the time zone changes from Mountain Time Zone to Central Standard Time, and you lose one hour.
From Midland (approx. 3 hrs): Take Interstate 20 West, then exit onto TX-18 toward Ft Stockton. Continue on TX-18 S for 47 miles, until you reach Interstate 10. Turn right onto Interstate 10 West. After 10 miles, exit onto Highway 67 South, toward Alpine & Sul Ross State University. Pass through Alpine, continuing onward to Marfa. Once you have reached Marfa, continue west on Highway 90 — Ballroom Marfa will be on your left, directly across from the Stripes gas station on E. San Antonio Street.
