THE FUNDRED DOLLAR BILL PROJECT
27 February 2010
Join us on Saturday for the Fundred City-Wide Pickup Celebration from 4 – 7 pm!
The event will begin at the Marfa National Bank at 4:00 pm for our official welcome to Mel Chin and his Fundred Guards. At 4:45, a Funded parade with all members of the community will leave the bank for Ballroom Marfa. Finally, at 5:30 Mel Chin and others will speak about the Fundred Dollar Bill Project and hold the drawing for our Haiti benefit raffle. The Fundred celebration will continue until 7 pm in the Ballroom Marfa courtyard. This event is free and everyone is invited to attend!
Ballroom Marfa and our community partner Marfa Studio of the Arts’ SITES program (Studio in the Elementary School) are proud to participate in this project initiated by artist Mel Chin. The goal is connecting and collecting voices from around the country to raise awareness and support a solution to lead-related health and quality-of-life issues still challenging post-disaster New Orleans. Marfa’s goal is the creation and collection of at least 1000 bills!
If you aren’t able to attend a Fundred Event in person, you can download a Fundred template, complete your artwork, and mail it to Ballroom Marfa, P.O. Box 1661 Marfa, TX 79843.
