As part of Marfa New Year’s Eve: The Progressive Party Adventure, Ballroom Marfa hosted a cocktail hour on 31 December 2011 with light spirits, records on the turntable, and 3-minute sketches by local artists Joe Cashiola, Erin Kimmel, and Hilary duPont. We were the second stop in the progressive: visitors first attended a postcard workshop at Marfa Book Company by Sam Schonzeit, then made their way over to Ballroom, and ended the night at El Cosmico for champagne cocktails, chocolate tamales, DJs, and photobooths.
